9. Idul Adha

Idul Adha is one of Islam’s celebration days. The people pray in the mosque. After pray the people still sit in the room and listen to Khotbah. Khotbah is explanation about Islam, what the people should do in the world as a good muslim, how to pray well, what is allow in Islam or not allow, etc. And the most explanation about Ibrahim with his kid Ismail.



So the history is, Ibrahim didn’t have a kid in long time after he got married, so he and his wife do want to have a kid. Until in one day they got Ismail. Ibrahim and his wife really loved their kid Ismail but in a night Ibrahim dreamt that Allah SWT asked him to slice Ismail’s neck. So as a good Moslim who do love Allah SWT Ibrahim do it sincerely with agreement of his wife and also Ismail. But suddenly Ismail change with a goat. Ismail is beside of his father, so Ibrahim just slice the goat. So that’s why after pray the people do sacrifiseing.



Well there is organization in every mosque, and in that organization they are people. They are called Ta’mirul Masjid and all of them are man. So after pray the ta’mirul masjid will work together in acrificeing the cow or goat.
Process of sacrifiseing the cow or goat is, the ta’mirul have prepare the cow or goat from several days before and than they invite the sacrificer, so the ta’mirul and also the society put the cow on the hole and hold it. The function of hole is as the place of blood. So for the sacrifice take the big knife and pray firstly before sacrifice. Then after pray the sacrifiser sacrifices the cow or the goat. After sacrifice the cow or goat, so the ta’mirul divide the meat as same as possible and packing it, then divide the packing of the meat to all of the society who are waiting for it. Then they go back to their own house.
